ARTS ALIVE
Where Creativity Finds A Voice
Arts Alive is part of a performing and visual arts educational programming series at The Ohio Theatre.
Founded in 2012, Arts Alive fosters an encouraging atmosphere of creativity, learning and fun! Each summer camp and other Arts Alive programming is designed to help draw out the natural gifts and talents of children to help them create something magical, professional and fun!
The Arts Alive Program will continue to grow and expand, so be sure to check back often to see the new classes, camps and other programming added through this educational series.

We are currently in the process of putting together our Arts Alive Camps for 2021. Please check back soon for more information. In the meantime, you can read a little below about the camps we offered last summer.
ARTS ALIVE Summer Camps

During the summer of 2020, where everything in the world has changed, we are working to adapt our Arts Alive programming to stay within the confines of current regulations, and yet still be able to offer some incredible programming to creative kids who want to learn more!
We are looking at this as an opportunity to expand the Arts Alive program and be able to offer more opportunities to a wider age range of students. This summer we are excited to have programs
available for Kindergarten through 12th grade!
With that in mind, we are excited to announce the Arts Alive Summer Day Camp Series!
Based on the current regulations, each camp is limited to 9 campers and we will be following the Ohio Department of Health guidelines for Day Camp requirements.
Sign-ups will be on a first come/first served basis, so be sure to get registered right away! When registration is full then campers will be placed on a waiting list. If there are enough extra campers, then we will consider adding additional camps.

Arts Alive “Create A Story” Drama Camp is a performing arts day camp for creative kids between the ages of 9-12 or going into 4th-7th grades. During the camp kids will learn basic performing skills in drama, music, staging, movement and what it takes to put on a show. They will work together to help
write, create and produce their
own musical, which will be
performed as part of a showcase
at the end of camp.***
*This will not be identical, but it will
be the most similar to our traditional
Arts Alive Drama Camp from past years.

Arts Alive “Film Camp” is an exciting new camp for aspiring film makers between the ages of 12-16 or going into 7th-10th grades. Campers will have the opportunity conceptualize, film, star in and create a movie which will be highlighted as part of a showcase at the end of camp.***
*Must either have a cell phone or a video camera to be able to help record.
*If we end up with some
really good movies, then
there is even a possibility
that your movie will be
able to be highlighted as a
special short and play before
a big movie shown at a later
date The Ohio Theatre!

Arts Alive “Creative Creatures”
Drama Camp is a performing arts
day camp for creative kids
between the ages of 5-8 or
going into K-3rd grades. During
the camp kids will learn basic
performing skills in drama, staging,
movement and creating
a character. They will
have fun getting to bring a
Creative Creature to life and
will have the opportunity
to perform in a showcase at
the end of the camp.***

Arts Alive “Digging Deeper” Drama Camp is a performing arts day camp for students between the ages of 13-18 or going into 8th-12th grades. During the camp we will be
digging deeper into the
different elements of theatre
and performing through learning
more about Auditioning, Improv,
Makeup and Directing and
Monologues. Campers will have the
opportunity to perform as part of a
showcase at the end of camp.***
***Every camp will have some sort of a showcase at the end. We would love to be able to do a combined showcase with all of the camps. With things changing in our world so quickly, we don’t know at this point if that will be possible.
We will wait to make the final decisions as we continue to see how regulations change and evolve along the way. Either way, whether it is a live showcase or a virtual showcase, the kids will have some sort of a performing opportunity at the end of camp. Announcements will be make ASAP.
